Follow the Flow
Every wake up crabby? I have and it’s annoying.
Even though you had a decent night’s rest the thoughts of lingering in bed just a little longer permeate the atmosphere. You get up, stretch, start the mushroom coffee and ponder the inner sense of irritation.
So if you decide to follow the energy, you take a minute to check in with yourself as to what is bothering you, what’s the trigger, what’s the rub.
Today for me it was something simple. It was a Valentine’s Day and there was no happy cards from anyone, no chocolate wrapped carefully from the local chocolatier and somehow the local flower shop delivery service zoomed by my house obviously forgetting the lovely flower bouquet I was expecting.
Oh well. Then I remembered I actually love Valentine’s Day. I already bought some 100% dark chocolate, one of my favorite plants was blooming, the sun was shining and my Cavalier wagged her tail in an extra friendly manner this morning.
And literally just like that I was able to slowly shift the inner annoyance to happy thoughts of gratitude and calm. And decided I was I going to make my Valentine’s Day special. How? By not relying on someone else to make it a sweet day.
My thoughts drifted back to years when heart-shaped cards from someone I loved arrived in perfect timing at my door. I keep those greeting cards as, for me, they’re a treasure to look back on, even thought at times it’s bittersweet. Kind of like dark chocolate.
So today I make my own card and share it on one of my social media platforms. I love to create, so today is just that sort of day to wish others a day of enjoyment, love, compassion and sweetness. And chocolate. Giving to someone else always turns the door handle to a new room with a much more pleasant vibe.
Start where you’re are at and let the flow of that energy take you forward. That’s how the energy changes and if you’re willing it takes you somewhere special.
So today, I might even trudge onto the lake and make a big heart-shaped message in the snow. Maybe.
So my thought for you today is follow the flow to your inner place of calm, joy, peace and sweetness.
Wishing you a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

Getting it Wrong

Do you ever have the feeling that no matter what you do you’re going to get it wrong, The decision needed, the choice to be made, the action that should be taken–all swirl together on confusion’s doorstep.
Break it down. Is fear driving you to inaction. Is mistrust in making the best decision clouding your thinking. Is anger pushing you to make a hasty move.
Sometimes when emotions collide it’s hard to push through to clarity.
That’s when trust needs to kick in. Trust you’ll make a good decision. Trust God is guiding you. Trust it will all work out. From that point of clarity and peace, make your choice, even if it’s to do nothing.
The choice whether action or inaction can now rest in God’s Hands and confirmed by the inner peace you are feeling.
Peace. What a beautiful rudder which can lead us to the calm waters of clarity and insight.
The issue might rattle and rumble for awhile, but in the end, if we follow the path of peace and trust, we’ll know that the One who holds our life in His Hands is moving us through, carefully and tenderly to right choices.
And in the end if we get it wrong, another level of trust kicks in — what we learn and discern might be invaluable as we move forward. That’s when ‘wrong’ can ultimately be ‘right’.
In the end, trust God and trust YOURSELF.
It’s your journey and it’s your life.

Rejection Clears Your Path
Rejection subtracts that which is less than what you truly deserve or desire.
Your offer on the house was rejected. There’s a better home waiting.
Your job interview didn’t pan out. There’s a better opportunity coming.
Someone walked out on you. They were standing in your way to success and true love.
Rejection is painful, numbs the mind and scatters the emotions. The response system jumps into gear with all sorts of pliable reasonings. Ignore them as you take the time to accept the loss, understand the removal, assimilate all components and its outcome.
I can personally attest to rejection with uppercase ‘R’. Hurt? Devastated, immobilized and fearfiul. Only progressing down the road and turning onto hindsight lane does any of it become clear.
Had I NOT been rejected, you most likely wouldn’t even be reading this post. Or be witness to some of the creative endeavors that were seeds within my heart that then had fertile soil in which to freely grow.
You have to find YOU in the middle of the rejection. It can be a stumbling stone or a dig-deeper timeframe to see what’s really there. Don’t ignore the anger, hurt, sadness, pain or sickening feeling of loss. Those feelings need their grieving platform in your life and the only way past it is to step on that platform and visit each one. You hold the microphone and as you are choose you can dismiss them one by one from the stage of your heart.
They will leave by the backstairs as they are dismissed.

Camouflaged? Look Again
I am always amazed at how some animals, insects and birds for example can be PERFECTLY still and blend amazingly within their surroundings. Whether for their next predatory action or safekeeping, camouflage works.
So it is in our lives.
What are you looking at today? Anything just not feel like it is being seen for what it is? Is something that is so distinctly there, but by cleverly blending into the surroundings stays innocently hidden?
For your benefit, stir it up, scuffle your feet a bit, make some noise — that you might see clearly what you are dealing with. Whether for our good or harm, there is a time for it to be made plain.
Some things that are hidden need to come into clear view where disguise is no longer possible. When it is made clear you’ll get that ‘ah-ha’ moments you need. Clarity and insight that may help you as you struggle to make good decisions and choices.
In relationships for example, I could give many examples of an unsettled feeling and uneasiness about what may be transpiring within the interactions. I’ve learned (and still learning) to:
- Watch to see if actions match words spoken
- Trusting my gut, my instincts until clarity comes
- Getting wise counsel
- Praying for insight behind the veil of deception that may be involved
When we ask, seek and knock, knock, knock on the door of needed understanding we will get it. And remember, if the enemy is involved, know this:
Proverbs 11:14 New King James Version (NKJV)Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.

Give Me Your Hand
Here’s some encouragement when you think you simply don’t have what it takes…….to move on, to step up, to let go, to forgive, to pass ‘go’.
God will always raise up a standard on your behalf. It’s time to stop counting yourself out and start turning a blind eye and deaf ear to those who might have already done so.
It’s not over until He says its over. Whatever mountain you’re attempting to climb, keep moving and count yourself in. Like the popular idiom, see yourself ‘in the house’. Take a stand and keep standing. You’ve arrived right on time to this particular season.
I recently had an experience that almost, I say almost had me believing an arena I was flowing in was at an end. But not so fast Charlie Brown. At the right moment, in the right way as I kept the faith and persevered it turned and it turned beautifully. That’s the thing about keeping on keeping on….it changes things — you and the atmosphere you’re in.
While a new season may be ushering in, keep the nuggets and blessings of the season you just passed through. It has purpose when you create your own memorial stones of gratitude. That’s where the power is. The power in remembering together what you and God have accomplished on your life path. You don’t have to recount each and every one. Just pick one and hang your current-day hat on it.
You made it through, you are here, you have what it takes to move forward and master this day, this season, this path. Let the wind shift, the season change and the landscape turn color.
You’ve been given and will continue to be given absolutely everything you need to overcome, turn the next corner and embrace the new horizon.
And don’t be afraid to beat the drums on your own behalf. Father God will help you keep time and rhythm.
You are worthy and you are worth it. Who says so? He says so, and today YOU and I say so…
Today’s Insight & Affirmation:
‘I am more than enough and I give God ‘permission to hold my right hand tightly as I move forward into the very next part of my Hand-written God story.’
